DIY Charme at its best. \n„forever coming of age“ so der Titel der neuen Platte\, ist\, wenn man so will  – ein Themenalbum\, das sich mit der großen Sehnsucht nach ewiger Jugend beschäftigt. „Coming of age“\, beschreibt die Entwicklung des Menschen von der Kindheit bis zum Erwachsensein (so wikipedia)\, und wird als Genre gerne in Filmen und Romanen bespielt. Auch Avignon überkommt gelegentlich das Gefühl\, daß er seine Teenagerzeit nie wirklich verlassen hat\, gleichzeitig aber schon die Auslaufrille in der Ferne nahen sieht. Diese Dilemma als Lebensgefühl vertont er in gewohnt persönlichen Songs\, die aktuell auch öfter mal ins politische abbiegen. Besonders mit „ still in love with a world that destroys itself“ bringt er das gerade in der Luft liegende Zeitgefühl beunruhigend treffsicher auf den Punkt. Heavily based upon voices and loops\, augment> ed by both electronical and acoustic instruments\, all of which they channel into surprisingly immediate\, concise and emotional pop songs. \nFragmented\, electronic Soul or Gospel\, playful multilingual Global Pop\, the deep emotion of Folk Music\, and a Jazz-like approach of creating everything on the spur of the moment. There are no preproduced elements in their production process on stage and even fully improvised songs regularly find their way into their live shows. \nOlicía is the band of Fama M’Boup and Anna-Lucia Rupp\, based in Berlin and Dresden\, Germany. They have founded their own label o-cetera (Membran/TheOrchard) for Olicía’s German Jazz Price nominated album debut “Liquid Lines” (2021). \nThe two also performed as members of Sophie Hunger’s band supporting her latest album “Halluzinationen”.
