DESCRIPTION:Anta.Can (no pronouns) was born and raised in Rojava\, Syria\, where music became a\nreflection of identity\, resistance\, and collective power. As a Co-Founder and Resident at\nKeybab Kollektiv\, as well as a Cultural Activist and Collective Organizer\, Anta.Can actively\nshapes spaces that foster connection\, creativity\, and empowerment through music.\nGrowing up at the crossroads of Kurdish\, Arabic\, and Turkish folk traditions—while\nabsorbing influences from classical\, rap\, hip-hop\, pop\, and electronic music—Anta.Can’s\nsound bridges past and present\, tradition and experimentation.\nSince 2019\, Anta.Can has been a singer\, percussion synthesizer player\, and co-producer in the\nband Karmakind. Through voice\, melodies\, and lyrics in Kurdish and Arabic\, Anta.Can\nchannels ancestral memories and personal narratives—woven together with pain and longing\,\nlove and tenderness\, passion and inspiration\, strength and creativity\, melancholy and joy. The\nmusic of Anta.Can is both a tribute to roots and a bold statement of self-expression.\nBeyond work with the band\, Anta.Can is also a DJ. In his musical sets\, Anta.Can blends\nsounds from various cultural origins\, crafting a sonic journey that crosses boundaries.\nCentering BIPOC producers\, his music weaves together rich narratives\, creating a space\nwhere heritage and innovation meet on the dancefloor.\nFor Anta.Can\, music is more than sound—it is a space of belonging\, a form of resistance\, and\na voice for those whose stories need to be heard.
